ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said the government will prioritise the involvement of the Pakistani investor community in reform initiatives across the IT sector and other key areas.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on investor engagement and opportunities in the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) digital and sectoral reforms, the prime minister expressed confidence that sustainable, better, and lasting outcomes will be achieved through active participation of Pakistani investors.
He directed authorities to organise a special webinar to brief IT sector investors on opportunities available within the FBR’s digital transformation.
The prime minister highlighted that Pakistan’s business community is gaining global recognition, particularly its entrepreneurs in the IT sector who are delivering valuable services worldwide.
“There is no doubt that the Pakistani nation has the capability to play a central role not only in the national economy but also in global development,” he said. “Pakistan is home to world-class experts in every field, including IT, and if provided opportunities matching their potential, they can deliver exceptional results.”
Participants were briefed on various phases of the FBR’s digital reforms and the investment opportunities associated with them.
