— October 19, 2026ISLAMABAD (AIA) President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have called for greater breast cancer awareness, early detection and improved access to treatment and care for women across Pakistan.
In separate messages marking Breast Cancer Awareness Day, observed today, they noted that the disease affects thousands of families in the country and can place a significant emotional and social burden on those affected.
Zardari said the day serves as a reminder for women to prioritise their health and seek appropriate medical advice if they notice changes or have concerns about their breast health.
In his message, Shehbaz said a comprehensive strategy had been developed to promote early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that no woman in Pakistan is denied timely, quality treatment because of her location or financial circumstances.
