PCHR Holds Dialogue on Journalist Protection and UN Human Rights Framework

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) recently hosted a consultation session on “UN Human Rights Instruments and Processes: Strengthening Advocacy for Media Freedom and Journalists’ Safety.” The event aimed to build capacity for effective engagement with UN human rights mechanisms and strengthen advocacy for press freedom and journalist safety in Pakistan.
The session brought together journalists, parliamentarians, human rights activists, and civil society representatives to discuss challenges facing the media and potential solutions. Speakers emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration, job protection for journalists, and ensuring journalist safety at the government level.
