PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicate Polio in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to eliminate polio from Pakistan.
Speaking with a delegation from Rotary International Foundation, led by President Francesco Arezzo, the Prime Minister acknowledged the organization’s continued support in the nationwide anti-polio efforts.
He admitted the challenges in eradicating the disease but affirmed that with dedication and strong leadership, the government will secure a polio-free future for Pakistan’s children. He also praised the efforts of frontline polio workers.
The Rotary delegation expressed confidence in Pakistan’s strategy under the Prime Minister’s leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the cause. It shared that Rotary spent $500 million last year on polio eradication in Pakistan and plans to contribute significantly again this year.
