— October 11, 2025
ABBOTTABAD (AIA) Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram inaugurated a four-day anti-polio campaign in Abbottabad on Saturday, aiming to immunize 225,469 children under five across 54 union councils from October 13-16, 2025. Polio vaccine and Vitamin A drops will be administered door-to-door by 1,688 teams overseen by medical officers and district officials. Vitamin A supplementation varies by age: blue capsules for 6-11 months, red drops for 12-59 months. The district administration, police, and health workers are collaborating to ensure coverage and security. DC Akram stressed adherence to SOPs, urged parental cooperation, and emphasized polio-free goals for Abbottabad. Citizens can contact local authorities for campaign-related queries or concerns.
