Shahbaz Launches Karachi Cantt Station Revamp, Unveils Vision for Regional Rail Hub

KARACHI (AIA) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today inaugurated the modernized Karachi Cantt Railway Station and launched the Shalimar Express train, marking a significant milestone in the country’s rail development.
Addressing the ceremony, PM Sharif praised Pakistan Railways’ efforts and emphasized the need for provincial collaboration to develop a modern transportation network. He highlighted the potential for regional connectivity, citing central Asia’s vast opportunities and the upcoming Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul train service.
The Prime Minister also assured support for completing key projects, including the Karachi Circular Line and Thar Coal railway. Minister for Railways briefed on ongoing initiatives, including smart railway stations in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
Senior officials, including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, attended the event.
