NDMA-UN Disaster Drills Conclude, Bolstering Pakistan’s Emergency Response Capabilities

ISLAMABAD (AIA) A two-day joint disaster preparedness exercise organized by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and UN agencies has concluded, enhancing the country’s readiness to tackle potential disasters. Over 130 representatives from federal and provincial ministries, district administrations, and relevant institutions participated in the drills, focusing on earthquake, monsoon flooding, flash floods, and severe cold scenarios.
The exercises aimed to improve coordination and capacity of relevant institutions, facilitating a joint response strategy and planning. NDMA will continue to take measures to mitigate risks, enhance institutional capacity, and ensure effective disaster management.
