ISLAMABAD (AIA) Resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is crucial for achieving peace and stability in South Asia, speakers emphasized at a seminar in Islamabad. The event, organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies and Kashmir Institute of International Relations, marked the Right to Self-Determination Day. Experts stressed that the UN resolution of 1949 established the principle of a free and impartial plebiscite to decide Kashmir’s fate, and urged India to honor its commitments. The participants saluted the resilience of Kashmiri people and reiterated Pakistan’s support for their right to self-determination.
