PM Vows Strong Support for Foreign Tech Investment

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating foreign investors and strategic technology partners.
Speaking with a delegation from Ericsson, led by Patrick Johansson, President of Ericsson for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, the Prime Minister lauded the company’s decades-long contribution to Pakistan’s telecom sector.
The meeting focused on expanding next-generation digital connectivity, 5G readiness, financial inclusion, and digital skill development. PM Sharif expressed Pakistan’s interest in leveraging Ericsson’s global expertise to build secure and resilient digital infrastructure.
The Ericsson team commended Pakistan’s efforts in upgrading its IT landscape, including steps toward the 5G spectrum auction.
