Shehbaz calls for safer train travel, timely track repairs
— October 2, 2026ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to take further measures to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers travelling by train.
He gave the directions during a meeting with Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, who called on him in Islamabad today.
The prime minister stressed the need for practical steps to ensure the timely repair and maintenance of railway tracks. He also called for further improvements in the efficiency of railway freight services.
