He issued the directives while chairing a review meeting on the project in Islamabad today.

Shehbaz said the park should foster close collaboration between academia and industry to create a modern technology ecosystem. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equipping young Pakistanis with skills in information technology, artificial intelligence and financial technology (fintech), while opening up new opportunities for technology entrepreneurs.

The prime minister also directed the authorities to begin operations at Daanish IT Park in collaboration with international technology companies.

He instructed the Ministry of Information Technology to conduct a comprehensive case study of the project and arrange an independent, third-party audit.

The meeting was briefed on plans to establish an integrated ecosystem to increase IT exports and attract greater foreign investment in the sector.

Officials said 50 private buildings have been upgraded into Software Technology Parks under the Pakistan Software Export Board. Eight incubation centres have also been established across the country to support start-ups, while 105 co-working spaces are operational to facilitate IT professionals.

The meeting was further informed that the authorities are in active discussions with leading global technology companies to bring them on board for operations at Daanish IT Park.
