Dar assures support for AJK’s prosperity, people’s welfare
— October 17, 2026ISLAMABAD (AIA) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare and prosperity of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
He made the remarks during a meeting with AJK Prime Minister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani in Islamabad today.
The two discussed the region’s development needs and the importance of sustained efforts to promote economic growth and social progress. They also stressed the need for a coordinated approach to address local priorities and expand opportunities for the people of AJK.
Dar expressed hope that the newly formed AJK government would fulfil the aspirations of the people and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their welfare and prosperity in line with their needs and expectations.
