Fog Expected in Karachi as Cool Winds Sweep from Balochistan

KARACHI (AIA) Karachi is expected to experience fog on Monday and Tuesday as cool winds from Balochistan move into the region, according to an advisory from Pakistan’s meteorological department. The fog could reduce visibility, especially during morning hours, impacting commutes across the city.

The cool air is a result of a mix of sea and land breezes from Balochistan, shifting Karachi’s weather pattern and bringing lower temperatures along with the fog. Minimum temperatures over the next three days are expected to be around 21°C, while daytime highs are projected to reach between 33°C and 35°C.

Elsewhere in Sindh, dense fog is expected to result in warm and dry conditions, the meteorological department noted. Last week, Karachi saw temperatures peak at 38°C with humidity levels fluctuating between 40% and 60%, contributing to warm and mostly dry conditions.

Hyderabad recorded a maximum of 42°C with 84% humidity, while Thatta experienced highs of 40°C and 88% humidity. Sukkur saw temperatures reach 39°C with humidity at 83%, and Mithi reported similar heat at 42°C with 84% humidity, each forecasted to remain mostly sunny.

Karachi’s nights are anticipated to cool starting mid-November, according to forecasters, though the city and lower Sindh remain under a high-temperature wave, with daytime highs reaching between 38°C and 40°C.
