Prime Minister Pakistan joins world leaders at inaugural plenary of COP29

BAKU (AIA) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif joined global leaders on Tuesday at the opening of the World Leaders’ Climate Action Summit, part of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
Upon arrival at the summit venue, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev greeted Prime Minister Sharif. Following the welcome, Sharif joined other world leaders for a family photo ahead of the summit’s official opening.
During COP29, the prime minister is scheduled to address the World Leaders Climate Action Summit and participate in various high-level events. He will also hold bilateral meetings with other global leaders and attend several roundtable discussions hosted at Pakistan’s dedicated pavilion, showcasing the country’s commitment to climate action.
