Hajj 2024: Ministry Emphasises Convenience with Online Applications

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has initiated a nationwide training programme for Hajj coordinators from 15 designated banks to streamline the collection of Hajj applications and improve the application process.

Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt said the training aims to familiarise bank coordinators with the Hajj portal, ensuring efficient group formation, package handling, and seamless processing of applications for aspiring pilgrims.

“This programme focuses on accurate data entry to maintain transparency and efficiency in the application process,” Butt said. The training sessions, conducted by Director Hajj IT Cell Hakeem Khattak, Jameel-ur-Rehman, and Programmer Hafiz Majid, will continue until November 17.

The process for receiving Hajj applications through the nominated banks will begin on November 18 and conclude on December 3. Hundreds of branches nationwide will offer paperless application services, with forms processed directly via the ministry’s online Hajj portal.

A dedicated dashboard will allow real-time monitoring of bank branches to ensure performance standards. Applicants under the regular Hajj scheme will also have the option to complete forms and make payments online, offering added convenience.

“This initiative represents a significant step towards digital transformation, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and accessible Hajj application process for pilgrims across Pakistan,” Butt added.
