PEC’s Free Generative AI Training: Transforming Engineers for the Future
— November 18, 2024
ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has announced the launch of a free, six-week online training programme on generative artificial intelligence (AI) for engineers. The initiative, in collaboration with PakAngels Silicon Valley USA, iCode Guru, and Aspire Pakistan, is set to begin on December 1, 2024, with registrations already open.
The training aims to equip engineers with cutting-edge AI skills and offers international certification with a traceable QR code upon completion. The course is tailored for PEC-registered engineers, engineering managers, university faculty and students, and corporate sponsorship partners.
Participants will explore generative AI technologies, applications, and hands-on model-building techniques. The course content includes:
Introduction to Generative AI
Overview of generative models
Practical exercises in AI model building
The training emphasises the transformative potential of AI, highlighting its ability to automate time-consuming tasks, enhance efficiency, and expand engineering capabilities beyond traditional methods. Participants will also learn to solve complex problems, generate innovative designs, and develop advanced engineering solutions without programming expertise.
The initiative aligns with the rapid growth of the generative AI sector, projected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2032. By 2030, 40% of tasks are expected to be automated using AI solutions, contributing $4.4 trillion annually to global productivity.
Engineers interested in participating can register via the PEC website at www.pec.org.pk/ai-training, scan the QR code on the flyer, or email ai.training@pec.org.pk for assistance.
This programme reflects PEC’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and preparing Pakistan’s engineering professionals for a future increasingly driven by AI-powered solutions.
