KARACHI (AIA) The 12th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 is set to commence on Tuesday, November 19, at the Karachi Expo Centre. This four-day event will run until November 22, showcasing Pakistan’s advanced and conventional defence capabilities while fostering international collaborations.
Organised by the Ministry of Defence and the Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), IDEAS-2024 aims to highlight the strategic importance of Pakistan’s defence industry, with a focus on the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The exhibition will feature a comprehensive display of state-of-the-art defence equipment, including tanks, fighter jets, helicopters, naval vessels, submarines, drones, and cutting-edge missile technology. Other highlights include innovations in cyber defence, satellite systems, and electronic warfare, underscoring Pakistan’s growing technological advancements in defence production.
Since its inception in 2000, IDEAS has been pivotal in promoting Pakistan’s indigenous arms manufacturing sector while providing a platform for international vendors to meet the needs of Pakistan’s armed forces. The inaugural event drew 45 foreign delegations and has since become a key player in fostering defence trade and cooperation.
The event attracts significant international attention, with a large number of foreign delegates expected to participate. It serves as a critical vehicle for boosting Pakistan’s indigenous defence trade and strengthening global partnerships.
With a history of success, IDEAS continues to position Pakistan’s defence industry as a global competitor, demonstrating both its technological advancements and its commitment to international collaboration.
