Government Revives Agriculture in Balochistan with Water Channel Restoration

QUETTA (AIA) The government has announced initiatives to revitalise the agriculture sector in Balochistan, beginning with the restoration of a critical water channel damaged during the 2022 floods.
The rehabilitated water channel is expected to benefit thousands of farmers and irrigate 57,000 acres of farmland, significantly boosting agricultural productivity in the region. Officials estimate the restoration will contribute to sustainable development in Balochistan, adding approximately one billion rupees to the province’s annual agricultural output.
