Gas Shortage Deepens Karachi Residents’ Struggles
— January 6, 2025
KARACHI (AIA) The Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) decision to suspend gas supply in Karachi has intensified the hardships faced by residents, who report disruptions even during daytime hours despite the company’s assurances that domestic consumers remain a priority.
The SSGC has cited “load management” as the reason for the suspensions. However, residents complain that the interruptions have upended their daily routines, leaving them frustrated.
“This is not just about cooking meals; it has disrupted our entire lifestyle,” said a resident from Gulshan-e-Iqbal. “We urge the authorities to resolve this crisis as soon as possible.”
