Empowering Youth: Jazz Extends Digital Pakistan Fellowship to LUMS

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital conglomerate, has extended its Digital Pakistan Fellowship Program to Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). This initiative aims to involve students in shaping digital narratives and contributing to the growth of tech journalism.
According to a news release, the fellowship encourages students to explore the transformative potential of technology in societal progress while advancing Pakistan’s vision of a digital future. Participants will engage in meaningful conversations about technology, innovation, and progress, developing critical perspectives and promoting awareness of technology’s role in the country’s development.
An agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Jazz and LUMS during a ceremony on Wednesday. This collaboration builds on Jazz’s earlier partnerships with academic institutions such as the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Beaconhouse National University (BNU), and Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU).
Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim highlighted the significance of the partnership: “This collaboration with LUMS underscores our commitment to a digitally inclusive and progressive Pakistan. By empowering students to lead technology-related discussions, we aim to inspire narratives reflecting Pakistan’s readiness for a tech-driven future.”
LUMS Vice Chancellor Dr Ali Cheema remarked, “Education is not just about knowledge acquisition but fostering critical thinking and engagement with contemporary challenges. This partnership provides students the opportunity to explore the transformative role of technology and contribute to a digitally empowered Pakistan.”
As part of the program, students will amplify technology-focused narratives across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Jazz envisions cultivating a generation of storytellers who articulate the role of technology in fostering innovation and societal progress.
The Digital Pakistan Fellowship Program has empowered over 90 fellows to date, 78% of whom are women, and provided more than 2,500 hours of training to over 1,200 citizen journalism creators. By expanding to LUMS, Jazz continues to drive youth-led innovation and support Pakistan’s digital transformation.
