Engineering Development Board Goes Paperless with Digital Governance

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Engineering Development Board (EDB) has transitioned from a traditional manual filing system to a digital governance model using the E-Office platform. This modernisation initiative, implemented in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in official operations.
According to a press release, the initiative was inaugurated on Friday by Saif Anjum, Secretary of Industries and Production, who praised both organisations for their efforts in adopting the E-Office system. E-Office is a comprehensive document and file management system that standardises file movement and tracking across government departments.
By implementing this system, the EDB has taken a significant step towards achieving 100% digitalisation of its operations. The platform will enable faster handling of assignments while fostering a paperless environment. It promises secure, efficient, auditable, and verifiable processes, ensuring smooth operations and streamlined decision-making.
This milestone underscores EDB’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge digital solutions to simplify information sharing, reduce costs, and enhance overall governance. The adoption of E-Office aligns with the broader government objective of modernising public sector operations to meet contemporary needs.
