ISLAMABAD (AIA) Pakistan Navy’s Sail Training Ship (PNS) Rah Naward successfully conducted joint sailing operations with the Italian Navy’s Tall Ship Amerigo Vespucci in the Gulf of Oman.
The joint exercise, part of Rah Naward’s overseas deployment to Oman, aimed to foster goodwill and provide hands-on training to cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy, according to a news release issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy).
This rare collaborative manoeuvre between two iconic Tall Ships provided a unique platform for cadets to enhance their skills in joint sailing operations. Unlike the more commonly held International Tall Ship Regattas, such coordinated drills are seldom witnessed, adding significance to the exercise.
The meticulously planned and executed operations highlighted the high level of coordination and professionalism shared by the two navies. The activity not only allowed cadets to gain practical knowledge but also showcased distinct sailing techniques from different naval traditions.
This interaction reflects the enduring partnership and growing interoperability between the Pakistan Navy and international naval forces, further strengthening ties between the two countries.
