Zardari Hosts Iranian Armed Forces Chief at Aiwan-e-Sadr

ISLAMABAD (AIA) President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday received Major General Dr Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, at Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iran, emphasising the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
The two sides also recognised terrorism as a shared challenge and underscored the need for effective and coordinated measures to combat it, according to a press release issued by the President’s Secretariat Press Wing.
Major General Dr Bagheri expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s consistent stance on Gaza and Lebanon, acknowledging the country’s commitment to addressing key regional issues.
