ISLAMABAD (AIA) The holy month of Ramadan will commence in Pakistan on Sunday, marking the beginning of a period of spiritual growth, self-reflection, and community bonding.
Millions of Muslims across the country will observe dawn-to-dusk fasts, engage in prayer, and perform acts of charity throughout the sacred month. Mosques are seeing a significant rise in attendance as worshippers gather for Taraweeh prayers.
Markets are bustling with shoppers purchasing dates, fruits, and other essentials, while mosques are being cleaned and decorated in preparation for the holy month.
The government has announced special measures for Ramadan, including reduced working hours and community Iftar arrangements. Traffic and security plans have also been implemented to ensure smooth movement, and special Ramadan bazaars have been set up nationwide.
Health experts have advised the public to take extra precautions, emphasising the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet during fasting hours.
