ISLAMABAD (AIA) A three-member delegation led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday and expressed gratitude for the recent reduction in electricity prices.
During the meeting, the prime minister informed the delegation that the government is working diligently to implement long-term reforms in the energy sector. He emphasised that these reforms are aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens and providing sustained relief.
Sharif reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising public welfare and stated that, despite challenges, Pakistan’s journey of progress will continue.
The PM and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also expressed concern over the international community’s silence on Israel’s unprovoked bombardment and oppression of defenceless Palestinians in Gaza.
Reiterating Pakistan’s firm stance, the premier pledged to continue raising the country’s voice at all international forums against Israeli aggression and to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
The delegation also included Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Liaqat Baloch and Asif Luqman Qazi.
