PM Vows Equal Development Across All Provinces

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to ensuring equal development across all federating units of the country.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Jinnah Square Murree Road underpass in Islamabad on Wednesday, the prime minister said that the development of all provinces means the development of Pakistan. He emphasised that this vision is reflected in the significant increase in federal allocations for Balochistan.

Highlighting the dualisation project of the N-25 Highway in Balochistan, the prime minister said it will be completed within two years, underscoring the government’s resolve to uplift the province using funds from the national exchequer.

Shehbaz noted that over the past year, the government had achieved key milestones, including an improved international credit rating by Fitch.

He also praised the beautification efforts in Islamabad and stressed the need to continue them.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the participants, stating that the underpass would be open for traffic within 35 days. He said work is underway to address the traffic choke points in the city, which would significantly improve traffic flow.

Naqvi added that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had prepared a comprehensive parking plan for commercial areas, and work had already begun on a parking plaza in the Blue Area.
