CM Maryam Launches PERA to Control Prices, Hoarding

LAHORE (AIA) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif says the newly established Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority will act as the government’s primary force to enforce law and price control in the province. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority in Lahore today, she said the authority has been established to control prices of eatables, eliminate encroachments and curb hoarding.
The Chief Minister said PERA will begin operations from Lahore division and will eventually expand across Punjab with a workforce of over eight thousand personnel. She said those involved in overpricing, profiteering, and hoarding will not escape the grip of PERA. She further said that the performance of the Crime Control Department has led to a significant decrease in crime across the province, resulting in improved law and order.
