CM Maryam Launches Rs25,000 Monthly Honorarium Cards for Punjab Mosque Imams

LAHORE (AIA) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that registered mosque imams across the province will start receiving a monthly honorarium of Rs25,000 under the “Chief Minister Punjab Honorarium” programme beginning next month.
Speaking at a distribution ceremony in Lahore, she said around 70,000 registered imams will benefit from the initiative, which will cost the government approximately Rs20 billion annually.
Maryam Nawaz added that bank accounts have been opened for imams in the Bank of Punjab to ensure transparent disbursement. She emphasized the imams’ role in community guidance and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to recognizing their services.
