Dar orders faster aviation projects, stronger international air links
— October 16, 2026ISLAMABAD (AIA) Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the strategic importance of a modern civil aviation sector in promoting economic growth, trade and tourism.
He made the remarks while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review developments and key priorities in the sector.
Dar directed the relevant authorities to accelerate ongoing projects and ensure compliance with international safety and operational standards to provide efficient services to international visitors, passengers and airlines.
The meeting reviewed operational frameworks, infrastructure upgrades and measures to improve air connectivity. Discussions also focused on modernising existing facilities and expanding international flight routes.
