Economic Coordination Committee Allows Commercial Import of Used Vehicles

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved the commercial import of used vehicles, with certain conditions. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad.
The ECC has allowed the import of used vehicles not older than five years, subject to a 40% Regulatory Duty, in addition to existing customs duties. The duty will be gradually reduced and eliminated by 2029-30. Imported vehicles must meet environmental and safety standards.
This decision aims to provide more options to consumers while ensuring compliance with international standards.
