— April 13, 2025
ISLAMABAD (AIA) The first annual Overseas Pakistanis Convention began in Islamabad today, aimed at recognising the contributions of overseas Pakistanis to the national economy.
The government has granted state guest status to overseas Pakistanis attending the convention.
The event serves as a platform for overseas Pakistanis, government representatives, and national institutions to come together under one roof.
To facilitate the process, help desks from various government departments have been set up to provide information, guidance, and services to overseas Pakistanis at a single location.
In a video message, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and pledged to address their concerns.
He noted that this is the first time such a convention is being held and welcomed feedback, opinions, and suggestions from the Pakistani diaspora.
Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Awn Chaudhry also praised the contributions of overseas Pakistanis to Pakistan’s economy, stating that “the hearts of overseas Pakistanis beat for Pakistan.”
