Gwadar Port to Launch Transshipment Operations with Persian Gulf

ISLAMABAD (AIA) A high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on the operationalization of Gwadar Port was held in Islamabad, chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. The meeting discussed launching transshipment operations between Gwadar Port and the Persian Gulf, engaging private shipping liners to facilitate the initiative. Initial cargo categories will include minerals, dates, seafood, and cement. The Minister emphasized showcasing Gwadar Port as a strategic trade hub and directed stakeholders to promote its cost-effective trade routes and incentives for international businesses.
