Maryam Launches Wheelchair Programme for Differently Abled

LAHORE (AIA) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday launched the Assistive Devices and Wheelchair Programme for Persons with Disabilities in Lahore.
On the occasion, the chief minister distributed specially designed electric wheelchairs and remote-controlled Scotties as gifts to differently abled individuals.
Addressing the ceremony, Maryam said the government is committed to the welfare and betterment of marginalised people, adding that completing public welfare projects and serving differently abled persons is her personal dream.
She commended the Punjab Social Welfare Department for its tireless efforts in successfully implementing welfare initiatives.
Maryam also highlighted that under the Chief Minister’s Himmat Card Programme, quarterly financial assistance of Rs10,500 is being provided to special persons.
