More Pakistanis Working Abroad Than Ever Before
— February 20, 2025
ISLAMABAD (AIA) Pakistan has set a new record in overseas employment, with 727,381 skilled labourers securing jobs abroad in 2024, according to the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BE&OE).
The majority of these workers have been employed in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman, while a significant number have also found opportunities in European countries.
The BE&OE, an attached department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, credited this achievement to aggressive marketing strategies, improved facilitation, and stronger ties with international employers.
The increase in overseas employment is expected to boost remittances and reduce unemployment, playing a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy. The government remains committed to expanding overseas job opportunities and supporting Pakistani workers in securing better livelihoods abroad.
