National Institute of Management Renamed to National Institute of Public Administrators

KARACHI ( AIA ) The National Institute of Management (NIM) has returned to its original name, the National Institute of Public Administrators (NIPA), in a move aimed at reaffirming its founding identity and core mission.
According to institutional sources, the decision to revert to the original name was made after extensive consultation with stakeholders. This change underscores the institution’s renewed focus on its foundational purpose of training public servants in effective policy management and administration.
Established as NIPA, the organisation began as a premier training institute dedicated to equipping public administrators with the skills necessary to manage and implement public policies effectively. Although its name was later changed to the National Institute of Management, its mission remained centred on public administration.
An officer for the institute highlighted the importance of the rebranding: “This move reflects our unwavering commitment to our founding mission and values. Reverting to the name National Institute of Public Administrators will strengthen our identity and enhance our contribution to the field of public administration.”
The name change takes effect immediately, with updates to official correspondence, branding, and materials already underway. The leadership confirmed that the rebranding would not disrupt academic programs or operations, ensuring the institution continues to deliver high-quality education and training.
The decision is being celebrated as a significant milestone in NIPA’s history and is expected to resonate positively with its alumni, students, and partners. As NIPA embarks on this new chapter, it reaffirms its status as a leading institution in public administration and policy management.
