NBF Publishes Pakistan’s First Comprehensive Data Analysis Handbook by Local Experts

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The National Book Foundation (NBF) has published an innovative book titled “Making Sense of Statistical Analysis: A Researcher’s Handbook for Data Analysis using IBM SPSS,” offering a comprehensive guide to data analysis in Pakistan.
This significant work is a collaboration between renowned educational experts, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood and Dr. Muhammad Yousuf, and thoroughly explores both theoretical and practical aspects of SPSS, according to a news release.
The book is divided into ten sections with twenty-eight chapters, making it a significant contribution to the field of research in Pakistan. As the first book of its kind authored by local experts, it incorporates local examples to make data analysis more accessible and relatable.
Topics covered in the book range from selecting research designs and choosing appropriate scales to preparing code books, data entry, data editing, data screening, and evaluating the reliability and validity of scales. It is designed to be an invaluable resource for students in both introductory and advanced data analysis courses, as well as for researchers using SPSS for their projects.
The authors have also provided relevant SPSS data files and questionnaires on the book’s website, allowing researchers to independently analyse and improve their data analysis skills. Beyond simplifying SPSS usage, the book serves as a practical guide for reporting results effectively.
The publication of this book marks a notable achievement for the NBF, as it continues to elevate research standards in Pakistan and promote the work of local authors.
