New Leadership at PSX: Farrukh Sabzwari Named CEO

KARACHI (AIA) Farrukh H. Sabzwari has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for a three-year term, a move expected to strengthen PSX’s strategic focus and promote growth within Pakistan’s capital markets.
The appointment follows a recommendation by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and subsequent approval by the PSX Board of Directors.
Sabzwari brings over 25 years of senior management experience in investment banking across both local and international markets. His extensive background includes roles as CEO and Managing Director of KASB Securities and BMA Capital, as well as serving as Country Head for CLSA Emerging Markets in Pakistan. Sabzwari has also held positions with CLSA Emerging Markets in New York and Credit Suisse in Indonesia and Singapore.
With his seasoned expertise, Sabzwari is widely expected to enhance PSX’s strategic direction and expand Pakistan’s capital markets. Market stakeholders view his leadership as a positive step forward for the nation’s financial sector.
Sabzwari will officially take on his new role on November 18, 2024.
