PM: Reduction in Power Prices to Provide Major Relief, Boost Growth

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is working at a fast pace to break the slowness of the blue economy.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review reform progress in the maritime sector, the Prime Minister said the incumbent government has introduced a number of reforms to uplift the sector.
Shehbaz praised the Maritime Task Force for its hard work in preparing recommendations for the development of the maritime industry, stating that global development is closely linked to access to maritime resources.
Turning to the economic situation, the premier said the government is working with sincerity to pass on the positive effects of the recent sharp decline in global oil prices to the people of Pakistan.
He noted that the reduction in electricity prices will provide substantial relief to citizens and help stimulate economic activity.
The Prime Minister added that macroeconomic stability has been achieved, and the drop in power tariffs will help steer the economy towards growth and competitiveness.
