PM Shehbaz Meets Meta Delegation to Explore Collaboration in IT and AI

ISLAMABD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a five-member delegation from Meta, led by Vice President for Asia Pacific Simon Milner, on Tuesday to explore collaborative opportunities in Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
During the meeting, the premier highlighted the vast potential of Pakistan’s IT and digital media sectors, emphasising that, for the first time, a record budget has been allocated to promote IT in the country. The Meta delegation briefed the PM on their services in Pakistan and the Asia Pacific region, noting that the first AI competition in the region was recently held in Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz instructed relevant authorities to resolve any issues concerning Meta’s operations in Pakistan, ensuring smooth and effective collaboration. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together on the development and promotion of the digital media and AI sectors in Pakistan.
Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Jehanzeb Khan, and other senior government officials were also present at the meeting.
