PM Shehbaz Orders Digital, Transparent Relief Package for Ramadan

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed all concerned departments to prepare a more effective and inclusive relief package for Ramadan, prioritizing support for the poor and marginalized segments of society.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister instructed that aid disbursement be conducted via digital wallets to uphold recipients’ dignity and support the transition to a cashless economy.
He emphasized maximizing beneficiary inclusion, backed by a digital dashboard and monitoring system for transparency.
Shehbaz Sharif lauded ministries and departments for the transparency achieved in last year’s Ramadan package, as verified by an independent audit. He noted that the government has replaced decades-old mismanagement at utility stores with a more transparent and targeted system to deliver subsidized essential items effectively.
