PM Shehbaz Urges Simplified Credit Access for SMEs, Farmers

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the State Bank and commercial banks to ease loan procedures for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and farmers, emphasizing that affordable credit access is vital for economic growth and technological advancement.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister underscored the need to prioritize financing for service providers and innovators in the agriculture sector.
He also instructed Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar and the SMEDA team to consult stakeholders across provinces, including GB and AJK, to draft a comprehensive SME support policy.
The Prime Minister further stressed entrepreneurship training for youth to stimulate new business development and national economic activity.
