PM&DC schedules MDCAT Exam on September 22, 2024

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has announced that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) will be held on September 22, 2024 (Sunday).
In a meeting, the Council agreed to conduct the MDCAT for aspiring medical students on the same date in Pakistan and abroad. The syllabus for the MDCAT will be uploaded next week on the PM&DC website, and the registration portal will also be open for registration. To facilitate the students, it was decided not to change the syllabus.
All the provincial secretaries are directed to start preparations for the MDCAT exam, considering the larger interest of the students, as per the statement.
Last year, almost 180,534 students appeared for the exams. This year, estimates suggest that 200,000 students are likely to sit for the exam. The MDCAT paper difficulty index will also be considered to ease students’ concerns without compromising merit, ensuring that all provinces conduct the exams smoothly.
The President of PM&DC, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, stated in the press release that MDCAT-2024 will be a paper-based exam held on a single day through provincial public admitting universities, supervised by PM&DC. He emphasized that students’ bright futures are the top priority, and PM&DC is working tirelessly to facilitate them.
Prof. Taj directed all the universities conducting the exams to strictly follow the guidelines and regulations to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process. He added that the Council understands the importance of the MDCAT exam for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges and will ensure that all necessary arrangements are made on time.
Further details regarding the MDCAT exam, including the schedule, registration process, and other information, will be communicated by the PMDC in the coming days.
