Punjab to Crack Down on Illegal Arms with New Law

LAHORE (AIA) The Punjab government plans to introduce the Punjab Surrender of Illegal Arms Act 2025, aiming to regulate arms and enhance security. The law will be enforced in three phases, focusing on surrendering illegal arms and scrutinizing licensed ones. All illegal arms must be surrendered within 15 days, with licensed arms undergoing thorough checks. The move follows a law and order meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
