Rain Alert: Punjab, KPK Bracing for Fresh Downpour, Landslides Feared
— March 9, 2025
ISLAMABAD ( AIA ) Provincial disaster management authorities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have issued a warning for a new spell of rains in various parts of the provinces, starting today and continuing until Sunday.
The authorities have alerted all commissioners and deputy commissioners to be on high alert, while relevant departments have been advised to be prepared to restore road links and ensure smooth traffic flow in case of closures due to landslides.
Tourists have also been cautioned against visiting hilly areas during the forecast period, as the rains could trigger landslides and disrupt travel plans.
The provincial disaster management authorities have urged citizens to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the weather updates to avoid any untoward incidents.
This fresh spell of rains is expected to bring much-needed relief to the drought-hit areas, but it also poses a risk of flash flooding and landslides in vulnerable regions.
