ISLAMABAD (AIA) Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced an ambitious plan to revamp rural health centres (RHCs) and basic health units (BHUs), aiming to enhance healthcare services for Islamabad’s rural communities.
Presiding over a meeting on Thursday, Randhawa emphasised the introduction of a “one patient, one ID” system to streamline patient records. He also directed the creation of a sustainable business model for BHUs and RHCs to generate revenue for their upkeep and improvement.
The Executive Director of Capital Hospital provided updates on new healthcare initiatives, highlighting ongoing efforts to recruit specialists and doctors. He also detailed the adoption of IT-based systems such as biometric attendance, electronic medical records, and online leave management for CDA employees.
These technological interventions are designed to curb medicine pilferage and bring transparency to procurement processes.
Randhawa instructed officials to explore the feasibility of solarising Capital Hospital and stressed outsourcing janitorial services and repair and maintenance tasks. He underscored the need for modernising health facilities to meet community demands effectively.
The chairman reaffirmed his commitment to closely monitor the implementation of these initiatives, ensuring a more efficient and integrated healthcare system for Islamabad’s residents.
