Romanian Embassy in Islamabad Celebrates International Day of Romanian Blouse

ISLAMABAD (AIA) The Embassy of Romania marked the first-ever celebration of the International Day of the Romanian Blouse in Pakistan, bringing together the Romanian community, diplomatic corps, and distinguished Pakistani guests. The event showcased the timeless beauty of the traditional Romanian blouse, “ie,” through an exhibition, traditional music, and culinary delights.
Ambassador Dan Stoenescu highlighted the significance of the Romanian blouse as a cultural treasure and symbol of national identity, emphasizing its role in celebrating Romanian-Pakistani friendship and cultural exchange. The International Day of the Romanian Blouse is observed annually on June 24, coinciding with the Romanian folk celebration of Sânziene.
