100-acre mariculture investment estate proposed at Karachi’s Korangi harbour
— September 24, 2026ISLAMABAD (AIA) Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar has proposed the establishment of a 100-acre Mariculture Investment and Development Estate (MIDE) at Korangi Fisheries Harbour.
The proposed estate will include modern facilities for fish farming, hatcheries, research, processing and value addition.
It will also feature cold-chain facilities, commercial services and modern infrastructure, alongside systems designed to support sustainable development.
