‘Time Ripe for Global Role in Kashmir Issue’, Says Mushaal
— May 12, 2025
ISLAMABAD (AIA) Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has urged the international community to play its vital role in finding a durable solution to the longstanding Kashmir issue.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, she stated that peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Kashmir dispute, as India has consistently violated peaceful efforts and human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Mushaal welcomed and thanked the international community for its role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India and for raising the Kashmir issue. She strongly condemned the Hindutva ideology promoted by India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying minorities remain unsafe, with regular incidents of killings and lootings targeting innocent people.
She called on the government of Pakistan to demand the release of all political prisoners held by India.
Highlighting the sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom, she emphasised that the time has come to resolve the issue for lasting peace in the region.
Mushaal claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is mentally unfit to lead the country and is dragging the region toward conflict. She also expressed solidarity with the Afghan people, alleging that India fired missiles into Afghanistan in a failed attempt to defame Pakistan.
She appreciated the role of social media activists during the ongoing situation and commended the armed forces of Pakistan for giving a coordinated and befitting response to Indian aggression.
