President Zardari Pledges Support for New Energy Vehicles

SHANGHAI (AIA) President Asif Ali Zardari has assured global companies of the government’s commitment to supporting the adoption of new energy vehicles, electric buses, and local component production. During a meeting with Chery Automobile Chairman Yin Tongyue in Shanghai, the President welcomed the company’s growing interest in Pakistan and encouraged exploration of joint ventures in electric buses, green energy solutions, and charging infrastructure.
The President highlighted opportunities for collaboration with Pakistani companies in manufacturing, minerals, and energy storage solutions, emphasizing the potential for job creation and technological innovation. Yin Tongyue briefed the President on Chery Auto’s global operations and commitment to innovation.
The meeting was attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla.
