Amir Muqam Lauds Journalists for Supporting Democracy

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Engineer Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, praised the crucial role journalists have played in fortifying democracy in Pakistan. In a statement issued on Monday, Muqam highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the safety and welfare of journalists, acknowledging their significant contributions and sacrifices.
He emphasised the important work being done by Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan reporters in addressing the challenges faced by both regions. He added that the Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Beat Reporters Association has been instrumental in raising awareness of the Kashmir issue on media platforms.
Muqam extended his best wishes for the speedy recovery of Asghar Hayat, a Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan beat reporter who was injured recently. He concluded by acknowledging the unique political and geographical challenges of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
